Melissa Collette serves as Vice President, Enterprise Services for Centerstone. Her focus is technology engagement for clinicians, physicians and staff and she leads IT support, analytics and technology procurement. Collette joined Centerstone in 2012 as EHR Project Director leading the initial implementation of myAvatar, Centerstone’s enterprise EHR platform. With 25 years of experience in IT, Collette was previously employed at Bass Berry and Sims law firm in IT management roles focusing on business intelligence, research and client extranets, and at BMC Software as a pre-sales Consultant for enterprise management products.

Julie is TVG-Medulla LLC’s Chief Information Officer, and a digital technology leader with almost 20 years of experience in Information Technology. Julie is an experienced executive who transitions seamlessly between digital, IT, and functional business teams, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams who consistently deliver and execute. Julie is a business enabler who drives value creation and growth through innovation and operating model optimization. She brings IT to the table as trusted business partner. Since joining TVG-Medulla LLC in 2019, Julie has launched and executed a full-scale digital transformation including a full-scale infrastructure and application architecture modernization, implementing a robust cybersecurity program, redefining the patient and clinical digital experiences.

Julie has a passion for giving back to the IT community. She currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Think IT, a non-profit group focused on fostering professional growth and development for its 1000+ members in the Chicagoland area. She is a frequent panelist and presenter for both Think IT, as well as Gartner/Evanta leadership events. Additionally, Julie is a mentor in the Barriers to Entry (B2E) program. The B2E program provides training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship to assist veterans and stay-at-home parents re-entering the workforce. In former roles, Julie formed and led the Women in Technology employee resource group, as well as served as a mentor in the Women’s Initiative Network.

Sue is a Principal at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. A nationally recognized health IT leader, Sue is currently serving as interim SVP and Chief Information Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital. In recent years she has served as interim Chief Technology Officer at University of Vermont Health Network, Chief Information Officer at Stony Brook Medicine on Long Island and at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to StarBridge Advisors, she was a founding advisor at Next Wave Health Advisors.

Sue has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare information technology management and was recognized as the CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year in 2014.

Sue served as Chief Information Officer for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers from 2012-2015, providing direction and oversight to information technology initiatives and working closely with the CIO for the U-M Medical School. Under her leadership, UMHS made the HealthCare’s Most Wired list in 2015 and achieved the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model Stage 6 in 2014.

For over 12 years, Sue served as Chief Information Officer of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Her previous experience included 12 years in positions of increasing responsibility at a large integrated delivery system in the Chicago area. She led the software division for a start-up healthcare software and outsourcing services vendor for several years and worked as a senior manager in the healthcare information technology practice at Ernst and Young.

An active member of HIMSS and CHIME, Sue served on the CHIME Board from 2004 to 2006 and chaired its Education Foundation Board from 2006 to 2009. She served on the HIMSS Advocacy and Public Policy Steering Committee from 2009-2011 as well as the CHIME Policy Steering Committee. Sue achieved fellow status with both HIMSS and CHIME. She is currently serving on the AAMI board as Vice Chair of Health IT. She is a regular speaker and writer within the HIT industry including a weekly blog called Health IT Connect at www.sueschade.com. She holds an MBA degree from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois.

Cae Swanger

Chief Information Officer

Cae Swanger is Chief Information Officer for HCA Healthcare’s Far West and Mountain Divisions. Managing a multi-faced team that supports clinical applications, imaging systems, pharmacy systems and custom applications leveraged by 23,000 caregivers, Cae develops the strategic IT direction for the two operating divisions that incorporates major initiatives championed by HCA Healthcare that allows for local adoption and acceptance by hospitals, surgery centers and free-standing emergency rooms in California, Nevada, Alaska, Idaho, and Utah. Cae joined HCA Healthcare in 2001 as Director of IT. Prior to that, had a successful career in the Hi Tech industry progressing from application developer roles, into systems and network engineering roles, ultimately moving into leadership positions.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned her MBA-Healthcare Management from Western Governors University in 2016.

Cae was recently named the 2020 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Las Vegas Top Tech Awards and Healthcare Quarterly Magazine. 

In the community, Cae is actively involved with the Susan G. Komen organization, Habitat for Humanity and the HCA Healthcare Women in IT Group. She also serves as an adjunct professor at UNLV’s School of Public Health where she teaches how various technologies contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.

Nicole Thyne, MHA is Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Milford Regional Medical Center (MRMC). She oversees a division of 570 employees including Information Technology, Diagnostic Imaging, Facilities, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, School Based Health Clinics, Occupational Medicine, Laboratory, Food and Nutrition, and Emergency Management.

During 2020, Nicole, along with two other members of the senior management team, managed MRMC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the development of an Alternate Treatment Area, communication system, visitor and testing policies, and the reopening committee for the organization.

Prior to joining the Hospital, Nicole held multiple positions at Mount Auburn Hospital and MEDITECH. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration at Framingham State University.

Nicole has spoken locally and nationally on topics including Meaningful Use, Health Information Exchange, and on other challenges Healthcare Executives are facing. She is currently a member of College Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS). She is also a member of the Advisory Board for Brandeis University’s Health and Medical Informatics Graduate Degree Program as well as an Instructor at Framingham State University in the MHA program.

Erica Williams, CHCIO, MBA, PMP, is an executive leader with over 20 years of business and IT experience within the healthcare industry. Her passion is enabling healthcare organizations to improve the patient and clinician experience with technology.

Erica serves as the VP of Customer Success for DrFirst, a Medication Management industry leader for over 21 years that serves 1,400 hospitals by improving patient safety and clinical productivity. In this role she partners with large healthcare systems to integrate Drfirst products to deliver new capabilities, optimize workflows and ensure customer strategic goals are met. Her previous experience includes several key IT leadership roles with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Community Health Systems (CHS).

Erica is the incoming President of the Austin Chapter of Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a member of the College of Healthcare Information Managements Executives (CHIME). She lives near Austin and enjoys cheering on her 17-year-old son in baseball and her 12-year-old daughter in gymnastics. She is currently training for her first triathlon in May.
